Department of Physics at the University of Arkansas will host National Science funded REU program in 2025. Selected undergraduate students will perform frontier research during the summer on experimental and theoretical projects in one of their chosen research areas.

RESEARCH AREAS: Nano-materials and Condensed Matter; Photonics, Lasers, and Quantum Optics; Biophysics and soft Condensed Matter

Additional activities will include field trips to industrial labs, ethics course, use of a research library, electronics and machine shop workshops, technical writing and research presentations, and social events jointly with other REU's.

ELIGIBILITY:

Physics majors or those in fields related to Optics, Biophysics, and Materials Science are eligible to apply. Students from small colleges and groups that are underrepresented in science and engineering, including women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

US citizenship or permanent residency is required for NSF-REU fellowship.

Students who will graduate before December of the program year are not eligible.
