Job Description
This hourly position will support PI Berli's UFDP post-fire hydrology research by helping Dr Berli to:
- Further develop and test methods to determine fire-induced soil water repellency
- Measure Water Drop Penetration Time (WDPT), effective and apparent contact angles as well as sorptivity of soil and soil surrogate materials
- Develop and carry out laboratory experiments to better understand the impact of heat on soil water repellency
May will also interact with Dr. Rose Shillito of the US Army Corps of Engineers, who closely collaborates with PI Berli on this project.
Required Qualifications
- Interest in exploring and discovering new things related to soil physics and post-fire hydrology
- Ability to work goal-oriented and independently
- Basic laboratory skills
- Experience using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
